She has arrived!!!

I only have a minute to post a quick update, but it's a big one: Ella Kennedy Pearce arrived on Sunday, July 26 2009 at 10:36am!!! We are going to be calling her "Kennedy" which is Leigh Ann's maiden name. I am happy to report that both baby and mom are doing great, although Kennedy doesn't really seem to like sleeping when it's dark out! Here are a few pics from the hospital and one from my iphone this morning (her 5 day bday!).

We will certainly have more pics and updates coming soon, so please keep checking back. She's an angel and we are so blessed to have this new addition to our family!

Round 2 of 3d Ultrasound

So, we thought we'd give it one more shot to see if baby Ella would be in a better position for her close up, but apparently it's not her fault after all!
The reason we cannot get a great shot of the little bean is not because she is camera shy, but because my placenta is in front of her. The technician said this is very common, just not ideal for the 3D scan because it blocks the baby. Oh well, guess we're all going to have to be patient until she makes her grand entrance into the world in a couple of months!

We're baaaaack!

We're sorry we haven't posted in so long, but we've both been busy bees and haven't had much to update.

Today, I am 28 weeks and 4 days along and we had an exciting 3d ultra sound! These images are not very clear because she had her little arm in front of her face the entire time and kept moving around so the technician was not able to get a clear shot. I will be going back next week for another try, and will post more as soon as we get them.

Baby Ella is growing at a rapid pace though! Although I am 28 weeks along, the Doctor said that she is measuring closer to 30 weeks and is over 3 lbs already! At this rate, she may be born in late July instead of August!

Head and Feet...

Leigh Ann had another ultrasound today and got some pretty good shots of the head and feet. We are especially fond of the middle "feet" picture!

Everything is progressing normally, as well. They are still saying it's a girl...TBD.

Well, today I am 16 weeks and 4 days along, and we had our 3rd Ultrasound this morning. The baby is perfect so far! We were able to see everything this time from her arms and legs, hands and feet, fingers and toes, to her brain, heart and kidneys! The Doctor said that everything looks wonderful and we are going back at the end of March to make sure that everything stays that way. Oh, and did I mention that we found out we are having a baby girl??? Although it is still early, the Doc said he is 99 percent sure that it is a girl! We are both a little surprised, as we were convinced (or at least I was), that we were having a boy, but couldn't be happier. Now comes the fun part... picking out a name for our little angel! We will keep everyone posted on our thoughts and will update as soon as we decide what we will name our little girl. :)

And Baby Makes...Five

After the first post, we heard some grumblings from our other two "kids" and figured that we would have to include the whole family! Hope that these two (Wiley and Charley) will be able to handle having a little brother or sister!
